Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?

Encinitas California dentist Doctor Tyler McElroy

From a young age, thanks to his father (Dr. Greg), Dr. Tyler actively participated in dental charity events that provided free dental services to the community. These experiences revealed the profound effect that dentistry can have on people and instilled in him the desire to pursue a career where he could directly transform the lives and well-being of individuals within his community.

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Tyler attended the University of San Diego where he received a degree in Biology with a Minor in Chemistry. From there, he relocated to South Jordan, Utah to continue his education and attended the Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine.

Since graduating from dental school, he has been very active in taking continuing education, having completed courses through Spear Education and other institutions focused on CBCT scanning, CEREC technology, clear aligner orthodontics, endodontics, PRP therapy, and TMJ treatment. He is also an active member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the San Diego County Dental Society.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
